The youngest of nine children, I was raised in New Jersey, the only avowed artist / writer in a family of (mostly) corporate and technological over-achievers. As a young person, I told many stories, and wrote poetry, essays and plays in my teens and twenties. I studied Studio Art and English Literature at the University of Massachusetts, and, during that time, also fell in love with the "Grey Lady of the Sea" - Nantucket Island. In between stints in Boston where I completed school and NY City where I worked in the publishing industry and made art, I always came home to her. In 2002, I moved to the island as a freelance artist and writer, before taking on a leadership role in at a sustainability-focused non profit. Currently I act as the development director for the Nantucket Land Council, and am seeking the right agent or publisher for my first novel -The Dragon of Diamond Hall - while working on my second. I am learning to play music with my husband Avi and love spending time with him and my two amazing daughters, Rowan and Eva and our rescue chihuahua, Mr. Poppy.
